Ages 5-10

I taught a new afterschool program yesterday with an age range of 5-10 year olds. Most of my in person classes are 2-5 years old or adults. Now, I have taught this age group many times, but it has been a couple of years. Boy oh boy was it different! A reminder to never stop growing, never stop trying new things, never stop learning your craft. I went into the afternoon with relatively no plan as I always like to feel out the energy of a new group of kiddos before I plan for them. Plus in a first class we always have to play the name game and go over some logistics and basics. But these kiddos jumped right in with a LOT of energy! Needless to say I was spent afterward. The best thing I heard at the end was, “wow that was fun!” I asked the child what she expected it be and she said boring plain yoga like on youtube… hehehe I am not sure who she was referring to but kids yoga always requires a fun factor in my humble opinion after teaching it for 7 years! SO get out there, keep having fun and if you read this all the way through comment on what was fun the last time you did yoga!
